The Infrastructure Operating Model does not begin with a product or a feature. It begins with six statements about infrastructure, autonomy, and authority. Everything else in the category — the standard, the components, the conformance model — is a consequence of these.

The implementation changes. The operating model does not.
Clouds, tools, models, and agents will keep changing. What does not change is the requirement beneath them: every autonomous system must hold an authoritative account of reality — what exists, what is intended, what is legitimate — before it acts. The IOM is the layer that stays constant while everything it governs is replaced.
